Originally from Worcestershire, I moved to Huddersfield 45 years ago, to study at the (then) Polytechnic, and never left. I’ve written poems, short stories, diaries and journals since childhood and it’s in these areas that I am most comfortable, although, like many scribblers, I do also have a drawerful of not-quite-complete novels.
20 years ago I returned to the (by now) University to study for a BA in English Studies, specialising in Creative Writing. After graduating I joined HAC which has been ever since a source of unfailing support and encouragement, and where I’ve made many like-minded friends.
I’ve been successful in various competitions, had short stories published in women’s magazines and poetry in assorted publications. I’m currently working on an ongoing narrative assisted by dice and tarot cards.
