Good day to you all!
You are all cordially invited to join us on Zoom next Saturday 20th March at 3pm for an hour of readings, celebrating the stories and poems created by the Huddersfield Authors Circle, as featured in our book, Circling the County. This event is completely free, or with a small donation if you can and tickets can be booked through the link below. Please come along and support local authors.
Starting with an Introduction by current President, Sophie Alderheart, we will then dive into readings from our authors and a Q&A section at the very end. Join us and be swept away to lands unknown.
We have eight star authors from the Huddersfield Authors Circle lined up to read their work for you. Shall we meet them?
Sara Burgess writes novels and short stories. She is interested in traditional folk tales, history and anything unusual. She is working on her third novel, historical fiction, and tonight will be reading an extract from one of her stories inspired by the Yorkshire countryside and mythology.
My name is Owen and I write speculative fiction short stories, a few of which have been published. I am also currently working on a trilogy of Western novellas.
I’m Susie Field and I am a member of Huddersfield Authors Circle and Rastrick Poets.
I mainly write poetry and short stories and my two latest publications – Step Into the Unknown and A Moment in Time were supporting Leeds Spinal Surgery Research Fund.
Gareth is an Amazon bestselling author specialising in Dark Fantasy and Sci-Fi. He has published one Steampunk novel plus three novellas along with several shorter pieces in various anthologies.
My name is Sophie Alderheart, current President of HAC and I am a Fantasy & Sci-Fi writer. Though my realm of influence is small at present, my ideas encompass entire worlds of wonder and I hope to share this with you all through my first novel, Lily’s End.
My name is Judy Mitchell and I have been a member of the Circle for four years. Writing was always something I intended to pursue after retirement. My interest in history, particularly in the Victorian and Edwardian periods has taken me down the path of writing creative non-fiction as well as other writing genres.
Gemma has written in various genres since being a small human, when she created a dystopian story about being snowed in at school. Since then two novels and some random short stories have also emerged.
A lifelong fan of supernatural horror and fantasy, Nick spends his days prowling the darker side of fiction, often to the scream of heavy metal guitars and the purrs of his feline companions. Werewolves are his speciality but only the monstrous kind – you won’t find any tame puppies in his Hybrid series!
All our authors will be ready with work to read from our novel, Circling the County and we hope you bring your thinking hats for some Q&A at the end! If you’re interested in any of the work we will be reading, you can check them out in our book, available from Lulu in the link below.
We hope to see many of you there – a nice relaxing way to spend an hour of the day.
